Trip to the Manjalar Dam in Theni District 2010 - 2011
The field trip to Manjalar Dam in Theni District was too exciting to all Kaviyans as they were allowed to unleash their joyous moments. The main objective of the field trip was to give children a different and interesting learning experience beyond the walls of the classroom.
The expedition started at 9:30 a.m. and after an hour's trip they reached the destination. En route to the spot, the kids engaged in tireless singing and entertained themselves. Their attention was also focused on the beautiful ambience around. They were thrilled to watch the trees, cattle, lush green fields and hamlets.
The eager faces awaiting the adventure were captured in various snap shots. When children reached the spot, they were taken on a stride along the dam. The sparkling freshwater and the pleasant weather lured them. At noon the kids as well as the teachers relished their lunch together in the dam. The large banyan trees attracted children to swing like modern Tarzans.
The next spot of visit was the fish farm where children were excited to see the men catch the fish in their nets. At last, the time arrived to pack their things and board the school van. Children returned school safely by 3.30 p.m. It was nice to watch the sweet buddies return home with loads of laughter.
